On this day in UK history – 27th March

On this day in UK history:

27th March 2004 – HMS Scylla – a decommissioned frigate – was sunk as an artificial reef of Cornwall, about 40 minutes by boat from Plymouth.

It was the first of its kind in Europe. The ship has become a very popular dive site and is a source of study for marine life.
