On this day in UK history:

1st March 1967 - Queen Elizabeth Hall (South Bank Centre) opened in London.

The Queen Elizabeth Hall is a music venue on the South Bank in London. It hosts daily classical / jazz and avant-garde music and dance performances.


The Queen Elizabeth Hall forms part of the South Bank Centre arts complex and stands alongside the Royal Festival Hall which was built for the Festival of Britain that was held in 1951.
